Your hospital room is equipped with a private bathroom, cable television, and bed-side telephone. A member of our team will show you how operate your bed, call light and intercom system. Your friends and family can call your bed-side telephone between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Calls received outside this time frame will be routed to our nursing station.
The hospital provides sufficient storage space to meet your personal needs. Your room has a closet and drawer to accomodate your clothes and belongings. We recommend you keep small personal items, such as glasses, hearing aids or dentures, in a case or container (labeled with your name) within your nightstand drawer when not in use. If you do not have a plastic container, please ask a staff member to provide one.
- The hospital permits patients to keep and use personal clothing, unless it infringes on other's rights or is medically or therapeutically contraindicated. For your added comfort during your stay with us, you are welcome to bring personal toiletry items.
- It is important that you inform your nurse of any medications you may have brought with you to the hospital including any complementary/alternative medications (i.e. herbal products).
- To prevent electrical shock or fire, bringing in personal electrical devices is strongly discouraged. If you do bring in any electrical equipment, such as razors or blow dryers, it is a requirement that it be checked by the Plant Operations Department prior to use. Your nurse can request an electrical inspection of your device by our Plant Operations Department.
- We strongly recommend leaving your valuables (money, jewelry, etc.) at home where you know they are safe. If this is not possible, please ask to speak with your patient registrar or nurse about storing your valuables in the hospital safe. The hospital is not responsible for items left unsecured.
